Bach Weekend 2020: Mass in B Minor

    19.30

    King's Place, 90 York Way, London, N1 9AG

From the opening primal scream of the ‘Kyrie’ to the gentle blessing of the ‘Benedictus’, the Mass in B minor has an almost operatic intensity.

Bach completed the final version of his greatest choral masterpiece shortly before his death and even by his own extraordinary standards the emotional depth and majestic proportions of the Mass are astonishing.

The London Bach Singers join forces again with the Feinstein Ensemble to give their acclaimed reading of this wonderful work, under the direction of Martin Feinstein.

The concert will be preceded by a Pre-Concert Talk given by Professor Timothy Jones from the Royal Academy of Music at 5pm in Hall One.

Bach Weekend 2020: The Musical Offering – Illuminated

    18.30

    King's Place, 90 York Way, London, N1 9AG

A rare chance to hear a complete version of Bach’s much-loved masterpiece, a work inspired by a visit to Frederick the Great’s palace in 1747.

This unique performance will use special lighting during the canons and fugues, so that the audience can actually follow the Royal Theme as it travels through the ensemble and is transformed, inverted and reversed.
